Overview
The first design/build project ever initiated by MoDOT, the New I-64 Project was the largest transportation project undertaken in the state’s history. The entire scope of the $525 million, two-phase project involved rebuilding twelve miles of interstate highway through St. Louis city and county, including complete replacement of 29 bridges highlighted by a new interstate-to-interstate link between I-64 and I-170.
Horner & Shifrin was responsible for roadway and bridge design for a three-mile segment from east of Clayton/Warson roads to west of Spoede Road in Phase I.
