Overview
Horner & Shirin provided topographic survey and engineering design to address back yard residential flooding at the request of the City of Manchester, Missouri. The back yards of this area are flat and have no visible stormwater outlet, and heavy rains tend to create large ponds along the property lines. The design included addition of inlet structures at strategic locations to collect stormwater while minimizing impacts to surrounding fences, trees, and private sheds. The inlets are connected to existing storm sewer structures in the front yards of these properties.
